04/28/13 - Chasing Chicken Sprint Tri

I just wanted to say that you and your team did a great job putting on this race.  Thank you very much, this was my second tri and will not be my last.  Thanks for doing what you do!!!

Bill

10/25/12 - Brickman ACAC Sprint

I want to thank you for changing my entry classification from Athena to my age group.  Because of that I came in 4th! in my age group.  Still no award, maybe next year.

And on that note, after being miserably cold for the ride and pushing myself to not stop for one foot step in the run and therefore being more exhausted than ever...  not 10 minutes into the drive home I settled back in the seat and said to my husband, "that was FUN".   Upon those words leaving my lips I thought, WHAT?   Which part?   Then I realized that whatever is gone through during the race, it is just so exhilarating to run across that finish line, that one is left with these feelings of joy and accomplishment which turns into a lingering sense of Wow, that was fun!  I'm going to do it again.

Thank you for being an integral part of making that happen.  ~Carolyn Simon

9/24/12 - Richmond Rox half iron

To Volunteer Coordinator Bryan Powell:

Do I remember your saying you were the vol coordinator? You guys did a FANTASTIC job. I was so impressed by their enthusiasm and how well they stayed on task given the length of the event. Especially the young ladies at mile 8, offering "water, powerade, dates, phone numbers"... really gave me a laugh when all I could think of was throwing myself off the bridge. So... thank you!  Andy Moser

Meredith Whitehurst ( run course captain ) response: OrthoVa Girls are wild!

From all of us in the DC Tri club, thanks for putting these events on!  We really enjoy the chance to get out of NOVA and a little further South, and we've had great experiences with Rocketts.  Keep up the good work!  ~ Ron Benedict   On your left!

Congratulations to you and your team for a great inaugural Richmond Half Iron Distance race. You guys did great! I am a member (and board member) of the Fredericksburg Triathlon club and will make sure to pass on the great job you did.Best regards ~ Stefan Krannitz

I came down from the DC area and really enjoyed the event so wanted to say thanks. My wife who volunteered said the crew team leads did a nice job too.In case anyone says anything about the stairs  - I actually liked the run course and the steps – made it very interesting.  If you send out the awards for age group winners or I can make other arrangements to pick up please let me know.  Anyway - nice job on the race – just outstanding venue – love your enthusiasm. ~ George Edgar Bennett

Laurie and the rest of the RMS team,

Thanks for a great Richmond Rox race. It was my first half iron distance and now I'm hooked. I live in Richmond and I've raced Rocketts Landing the past two years, so doing my first 70.3 on familiar territory was awesome. The course volunteers were great, and since I'm not a speed demon I know they were already on the course a while but still had a great attitude when I was going through the water stops on the run course. I can only imagine all the recruitment and logistics that go into planning and the late nights and early mornings involved in set up and clean up, and I'm thankful for your hard work. This was my seventh tri and it was both the hardest and most enjoyable one for me. Thanks again for all your work and for creating a great race.  ~ Ed Kross

8/21/12 - CSM Pink Power Tri - Women only

I just wanted to thank you for putting on the Pink Power Sprint Tri. This was my first tri and it was such a great experience. Everyone was so nice, helpful and motivating. From the crew at 3 sports to the volunteers out today, I really appreciate the support!  Thank you for all the information you supplied us and the meetings you offered, I can tell you put a ton of time, work and effort into the race.  Again, thank you so much for holding this race and making it a great first tri for me and my group of friends!Sincerely,  Erin Konrad

4/22/12 - Chasing Chicken Tri

Thanks for putting on such a great race not withstanding the weather.  Grace and I really enjoyed it and look forward to next time.  - Jose Obando

Thanks to you and the RMS team for putting on another top notch event.  I think sometimes people take for granted that we have one of the best race production crews right here in our own backyard.  I always enjoy racing RMS events, and I am already looking forward to the next one.  - Adam Otstot

5/21/11 - PowerKids Triathlon

Thank you for mentioning us in your post-race wrap up.  We have enjoyed participating every year.  We love the way you support and include all ages and abilities.  We only do two kid races a year and we wouldn't miss Power Kids.  It is a tradition that we enjoy together and talk about all year!  Thank you also for the award.  I enjoying volunteering and helping out with things that are such a postive experience for my kids and other kids.  My family and friends have gotten a kick out of my "Ball of Fire" award.  Looking forward to next year! and having Michael do his first race! - Heidi Armonda

05/22/11 - GroundForce IT PowerSprint Triathlon

Laurie and Matt - Thank you for a wonderful first time tri experience.  You put on a great race!  The weather was beautiful (not that you can take credit for that), the people were friendly and helpful, everything was well organized, and the bike and run routes were beautiful!  Thanks again!  And I hope to be back again next year and I might even get my husband to participate! - Susan Yvonne Struchen

05/22/11 - GroundForce IT PowerSprint Triathlon

Laurie - I know everyone is quick to point out errors or problems, but I wanted to send a quick thank you.  I had an amazing time yesterday, and I can't imagine having a better first time experience.  Thank you for a great introduction to the sport  - Marc Stallings

10/10/10 - Richmond Sprint Triathlon

Laurie -I had a fantastic time at your event yesterday. I don’t think I could have picked a better event for my first tri. I wanted to let you know that I really appreciated the smooth flow of the event itself, the excellent amount of information ahead of time, and the really well run and supported course. And while I don’t have years of experience in Tri, I would have to say that this was the best run event I’ve ever participated in (in bike centuries or road running). All the volunteers were fantastic, but I’d like to single out Matt - he was super helpful both the day before (when he took time from setting up bike racks to tell us all about the course, gave us some great advice and was just generally upbeat and encouraging) and on race day, when there were 1000 people everywhere, he was again encouraging and supporting – and that, combined with the organization and general upbeat atmosphere, just really made my day! Thanks again! Looking forward to the next one.— Jen Narkevicius

5/19/09 - Rocketts Landing Triathlon

Hey Laurie! Just wanted to send a quick e-mail and say, "Great Job on Sunday"!! I loved both the bike and run course - what a Great location!! I told David he has to do it next year, so I guess I will get kid duty. You did the best job that you could regarding the swim portion, and I certainly agreed with the call you made. I thought it was a GREAT event!! Thanks for all of your efforts and hard work and for bringing so many triathlons to Richmond! Keep up the Great work!!! See you at I Love the Tavern!Ashley Hart

10/08 - Richmond Sprint Triathlon

I competed in the Richmond Sprint Triathlon last Oct '08 and had a total blast! I would like to put a shout out to one of the race volunteers. You were posted toward the end of the run, you were shouting “You are 400 meters from the finish line! Now is the time to kick it in girl!” I was nodding my head and giving you the thumbs up. At that moment your inner coach emerged, as you shouted “Girl, Kick it in! Get those elbows going and your knees will follow!!” Your encouragement was the fuel I needed. I kicked it in – got my arms pumping, up came my knees and I shot off to a strong finish. Thank-you dark haired guy! I’ll cheer you on any day!Dena Fultz

6/30/08 - Tavern Tri

I just wanted to thank you for offering an aqua cycle division for the I love the Tavern race! I had a wonderful time racing. I'm trying to recover from a foot injury and can't run for a while. The opportunity to participate in the Tavern race really lifted my spirits. This is my first season participating in triathlons and I'm hoping to do many more of your races in the future.Kelly Hadiaris

6/7/08 - HHHunt Power Sprint Tri

Thanks for the message - I knew a PR 5k on a tri was too good to be true! But I REALLY enjoyed the race itself, and the fun afterwards. You, your org RMS, and all the sponsors are to be commended. This is a very well put on event. I'm hoping to do all 4 of the tri's this year - that pint glass will be a sweet reward! Thank you again! Very well run event.Lee White

6/6/08 - HHHunt Power Sprint Tri

I really don't need to fill out an evaluation unless you would like me to. This is by far my favorite race. It is well run, organized, great facility, fun course, and always an exciting group of people attending. Thanks for another great day!Gary Greenwood

5/1/08

I want to say thanks for keeping me in the loop on the Richmond Area events. I look forward to racing again with ya'll in the fall. I also just want to send a quick note to let you know that this past weekend I participated in the Beach blast in FL. It was fun to race but I have yet to find an event organizer that comes close to ya'll. Keep it up and see you soon.Dave Baker

I just wanted to thank you for a great season. I have participated in races VERY sporadically for 20 years and this year I decided to give triathlon more attention. I participated in all 4 of the RMS races and had a blast. I am just a middle of the pack, mom of two triathlete w/only an hour a day to train and no time to travel too far to race. Your schedule really allowed me to participate in great events locally and all the races were professional, fun and challenging. Thanks for helping me rediscover my inner athlete at age 40! Can't wait 'til next year....Amy Cook
